Virtual Graduation Ceremony - Aspect Communications

The Context

After a year of high-level leadership coaching, 72 global Fast Track leadership graduates were ready to give their final presentations, receive feedback, graduate and have some fun.

But with a ban on international travel and live event restrictions, this program needed to move online.

This meant bringing together global graduates, coaches and the leadership team for a week of presentations, networking and socialising, closing with a graduation ceremony which was high energy, engaging and provided a moment of recognition.

The Project

Pre-event, we designed a competitive online team building activity in regional groups with a prize for the winning teams.

For the ceremony we focussed on integrating technology, content and creative to produce a captivating graduation experience. We developed a number of creative assets for the ceremony, including a green screen virtual set, virtual backgrounds for graduates, opening sting videos for each graduating team and onscreen special effects. Using green screen technology we were able to put our presenters from Switzerland and the UK together in the same room, supported by rigorous pre-event testing.

We also shaped the content, including external speakers, feedback opportunities for coaches and the leadership team, and fun recognition of graduates’ achievements. Friends and family were invited to watch the ceremony.

The Outcome

72 graduates successfully graduated, with friends and family in attendance.

We exceeded expectations and left the client and graduates thinking ‘should this be the future of how we do graduation ceremonies?’

Event segments are now being used throughout the business for external marketing and internal newsletter purposes.
