The Context

Our client is a global consumer packaged goods business and strategic partner of a large drinks brand. Together with their customers, they serve 715 million consumers across a broad geographic footprint of 29 countries on three continents.

The business holds regular ‘Investor Days’ for their investors and industry analysts. The key objective of the 2023 meeting – the first of its kind since 2019 – was to increase confidence in the company’s continued ability to deliver long-term, sustainable, profitable growth and thereby incentivise investors to buy shares.

As well as sharing the business strategy and opportunities for future growth with investors and analysts, the purpose of the meeting was to allow them to engage with the management team on a one-to-one basis. The event also needed to be as inclusive as possible, so a hybrid format was proposed to allow for maximum participation.

Our Work

We planned and delivered an exclusive event in Rome for 40 people, with a further 200 joining online through the day. The event started the evening before with an informal ‘mixability’ welcome drinks reception showcasing the client’s beverages, followed by a blend of plenary presentations and break-out sessions the next day.

A ‘market visit’ in Rome in the afternoon provided an opportunity to see some of our client’s customer outlets in action, which was followed by an intimate evening dinner in the city. The carefully curated programme of activities across the two days maximised delegate access to our client’s senior management team and allowed for invaluable one-to-one time with them.

Importantly, we collaborated closely with our client to ensure the meeting experience for both in-person and online delegates was equally positive by designing two distinct audience journeys. We developed short, sharp main plenary room presentations with the senior management team and designed a Q&A session that both audiences could participate in. Special content was loaded onto the viewing platform to engage the online audience and provide added value. We created ‘accelerator break-out’ sessions, filmed onsite purely for the online audience, edited through the night, and played out the following day. This allowed the online participants to choose and curate their own content experience on the day.

The results

Our client was extremely pleased with how the event was received and rated by both in-person and online attendees:

76% of feedback respondents rated the event 5/5 – “very useful”
85% of feedback respondents rated access to management team 5/5 – “very valuable”
85% of feedback respondents rated content as much better or slightly better than expected
