Large Annual General Meeting for a high street retailer
After seven years with their incumbent provider, the company was looking for a fresh approach. The meeting, held at the Royal Festival Hall, was the largest AGM in the country with 2,000 people attending. The AGM was extremely high profile from a media perspective because it marked the last year for the incumbent Chairman and the introduction of the new CEO. Key to our success was audience interaction and engagement, as well as the ability to manage the logistics of such a large event.
We ensured our creative talent was applied in all areas of the AGM production and shareholder interaction, introducing many ‘firsts’ to the client, which included creating a theme for the meeting. “Everything under the sun” encapsulated the vibe of a great British Summer and enabled us to showcase a wide range of the company’s offerings – from food to furniture – through our specially designed ‘summer park’. To ensure the event ran smoothly from a logistical perspective, we evaluated every area of the AGM process from the queuing system on entry to the registration system and floorplans. A carefully planned media strategy ensured the vast media presence was managed effectively. Our question management system lent shareholders a voice, whilst giving the Chairman full control of the meeting.
Whilst building upon previous years’ quality, smart thinking and effective planning allowed us to reduce the budget. This resulted in the most cost-effective success in our client’s AGM history.
